First Impressions About Malaysia

Everything depends of the people you meet. I am so lucky always with my new couchsurfing friends and travel partner in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (Borneo), Malaysia.

Just to arrive to the airport and have someone there to welcome you, it's the best beginning ever.

Natalie and Des were waiting for me at the airport! Thanks!

My 30 first hours in KK will resume very easily in 2 words: food and fun. We haven't stop eating since we arrived (bye bye new year resolutions!) and here is everything so delicious! Fresh, natural, homemade!

BBQ from Filipino Food Market

People around (locals) are really lovely, smiley and doing their best to make us feel at home. Here there is more English spoken than I would never had thought.

Even if today we couldn't reach Kundasang and Poiron hot springs due to the heavy rain ( we are in rainy season), plan B, C, D had been really amazing so far.

They are so friendly! They want to be taken photos without anything but a smile in reward!!
The only thing I don't like from KK (and it's something than I don't like from the US too) is the lack of public transport. Everyone here seems to own a car a public buses are nonexistent. I wonder how we would move if we wouldn't have our couchsurfing friends...

Tomorrow let's try island hopping and snorkelling if the weather permit it!
