First Impressions about New Zealand

Aotearoa, the Land of the White Cloud (or the land of the Middle Earth, although hobbits and rings are not so popular here like abroad, still, they use them for tourism purpose a lot.)

Just arriving at Auckland Airport

After being in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Auckland will look like a village for you…Small cozy houses, 1 floor houses or department stores.

Downtown Auckland is amazing though, with huge sky scrapers.

Multicultural Auckland

Everything is green and healthy here. I am very lucky to stay at one of my cruise ship friend house and family. If this could not be lucky enough, they are maori and willing to share their culture with me. Awesome.

Nothing else better than creamy cheese and white wine as a welcome. yes, I know I quit alcohol but once sometimes won't hurt me, right? ;)
They were showing me the maori artifact and goose me! I inserted my finger inside...Luckily we didn't have to cut anything, the maori instrument or my finger...
My first days with the family had been very relaxing, we had been swimming in the wharf just a few minutes from home and in Howich Beach, visiting the outstanding Auckland Museum, eating a lot of dairy and nice food and playing with the maori kids basketball, trampoline, bike, saving a bird unable to fly…

My new best friend Chico
Today they are taking to fish in the river…We are planning also our trip down to Wellington and Queenstown…

But without rush, enjoying the Kiwi lifestyle…
