Do you need to go from Europe to the US but afraid of flying? or tired?
An excellent idea to stop backpacking for a while and give a little bit of glamour to your trip is taking a transatlantic cruise. These cruise routes are called "reposition" and always sold as a bargain (but obviously, no advertised anywhere). You can book them last minute and the price usually doesn't change. If you travel from Miami to Europe (usually Barcelona or Rome Civitavecchia) check in April. For the Europe to America bound, usually at the end of October-beginning of November.
For a little bit more than 700$, you can get 2 weeks of full board, accommodation in inside cabin (don't worry, there is plenty of things to do, you won't stay in your cabin that long). Plus you will get to spend the day in some fantastic port of call like Canary Islands, Azores Islands or some Caribbean islands before disembarking in Miami.
